Pika Release Notes 2020.01 

New Functionality

• Upgrade to PHP 7n (Minute 00:25;23)
  • Round 1 updates
  • Upgrade 3rd party libraries to newest version 
    • Security and stability
  • Replace unmaintained packages with maintained packages
    • Security and stability
  • General PHP7 compatibility
  • Where necessary write new packages to replace outdated code
• Sierra API Patron Interactions
  • Holds queue position display (Minute 03:01;13)
  • Formerly this was incorporated into the hold status (Non-consortium)

• New users weren’t able to reset pins (patched) (Minute 04:14;05)
• PIN authentication for students at Sacramento Public Library (Minute 10:52;18)

• Bulk add archive objects to user list (Minute 06:09;13)

• Reading History ‘Add to List’ button (Minute 09:57;10)

• Pika Administrators (Minute 11:28;14)
  • A user can only have one of these roles assigned to them at a time: opacAdmin, libraryAdmin, libraryManager or locationManager
  • Library settings hidden from Library Manager and Location Managers
  • Interlibrary Loan, Hoopla, Google Analytics and CAS

Bug Fixes

• Merge work button wasn’t displaying for users with certain administrator roles (patch)
• Sierra Patron API (Minute 5:04;22)
  • Checked out items count in sidebar wasn’t correct (patch)

• RBdigital eMagazines for Marmot
  • RBdigital Unlimited eMagazines collection 
  • Much larger collection

  • Not fully complete but underway
• Garfield County RBdigital eComic
  • Not complete, in process
  • Might be used by other Marmot sites
• Flipster for Marmot
  • Working with EBSCO to get a working MARC record set for sideload

Additional Work

• Self registration settings updates
• Code Base clean up
  • Removed old and obsolete code from Pika base repository
  • Removed unneeded database tables and columns
