Discussion Topics

  • Record grouping enhancement demonstration and discussion (Minute 34:59)
    • Language as a grouping factor
    • Graphic novel as a new grouping category
      • Graphic Novel a grouping category “Comic”
      • The eComic would include a more traditional comic book and a graphic novel
      • Comic is shorthand for graphic novels and eComic
      • Display label can be adjusted for the actual format determination, but the grouping category will be Comic
      • Graphic novels physical or electronic and comic books will all be a new grouping category
    • Grouping testing will be done on a separate server and not on the regular test servers
    • Every Discovery Partner’s physical content will be included on the Marmot grouping test server,  so there will not be a record grouping server for each site
    • The record grouping improvement projects are going to be done on the cloned test server, and would not be put into production until all the changes have been made. This will be done to avoid the record group number from changing.
    • The work on the grouping project will be demoed and discussed at every meeting
    • Please report any grouping bug now
  • Discussion of development priorities for the next release with Adam Murray- Road Map (Minute 51:12)
    • Release planning and prioritization
    • Currently, there is no formal product owner for Pika
    • Adam will be the formal product owner for the time being
    • Adam will be the final decision maker when there are multiple competing priorities or strategies. Otherwise, it is a consensus-driven model.
