New Functionality
  • Sierra Integration (Minute 00:37)
    • Display the item volume on the patron's Holds page when an item-level hold has been placed.

  • When an item level hold is required, the item selection box will only display items holdable by the patron for additional Sierra API versions (including Marmot’s current version)

  • The Sierra API returns a list of these items when an item level hold is required
  • Technical note: the format of the item list is different in some versions of the API.
  • Patron API used for patron reading history opt in and opt out (Minute 21:07)
    • Previously screen scraping was used

  • Optional web note for patron accounts (Minute 23:45)
    • Displays in patrons MyAccount pages

  • New library/location setting Catalog URL (Minute 3:51)
    • Connects the URL a user in browsing with to the library or location
    • Replaces the removed ‘subdomain’ setting

  • Opac Admins can now change the catalog URL which will set the symbolic link on the server needed for the URL to work
    • (DNS entries must already exist for a new URL to function)

  • MyAccount/SelectInterface will now function correctly regardless of libraries’ URLs
    • Libraries now display in columns

  • Search Improvements
    • When an eContent Source facet is selected, other format manifestations will be hidden by default under the ‘View All Formats’ link so that the search results highlight the chosen eContent Source.
  • Northern Waters Implementation Import user lists from classic implemented (Minute 14:53)
    • Theme updated and implemented
    • Production Servers and URLs set up and ready to go
    • SSL setup on production servers
    • Update Sierra API Extract to fetch item opac message field (used for suppression)
    • Add notification preference option Text and field to set text number (Minute 6:56)

  • Consortium shared OverDrive Advantage account (Minute 8:29)
    • Wisconsin has a state-wide OverDrive collection, the consortium shares a single advantage account
    • Handling created so that each library in the Pika site refers to the same Advantage account
  • Handling of Inter-library Loans checkouts (WISCAT does not use Inn-Reach)(Minute 9:16)
    • Checkouts tracked as items on an ILL bib for each library with ILL title stored as the item call number
    • Implemented special handling to replace the title for bib with the title for the call number for display to patrons in their Check Out Page and Reading History


  • During initial Reading History ingestion, any Sierra reading history entries referring to ILLs are excluded from Pika Reading History, because they contain no useful information for the patron.

    

  • Filtering and sorting My Ratings (Minute 19:50)
    • Must have a minimum of 6 ratings to see the filtering and sorting box

  • Pika Offline Mode (Minute 10:32)
    • When using Offline Mode and Offline Holds allowed, display on the User’s Hold page any offline holds they have placed.

  • Created a configuration setting to divert holds to Offline Holds without having to turn on the Offline Mode (Minute 12:07)
  • Marmot Member Implementation
    • Built Migrate Circs form to ingest new library’s current checkouts using the Pika Offline Circs process (Minute 13:38)

  • Documentation linked to Offline Circ Page  (Minute 12:56)

  • Pika Admins with access to a single library will be taken directly to that library’s admin page rather than the list of library pages (with the single library listed)
  • Lists Improvements (Minute 16:35)
    • Added link to user facing list documentation 

  • Location phone number expanded to allow for extension information

Bug Fixes (Minute 25:58)

  • When download from OverDrive directs users to the Pika OverDrive Support Request form, the form will require the patron to log in so that the request can be sent to the patron’s library.
    • Form will be sent to email provided in the the ‘OverDrive settings’ section of the Library System settings
  • User list ‘Add multiple titles’ pop-up will not attempt to search the digital archive for entries that appear to be archive pids (having the colon : character) when that Pika site does not have the archive enabled.
  • User list digital archive entries can now be selected to be deleted in multiple entries actions.
  • Sierra libraries using Pika Self-Registration can disable using Patron Agency by setting the library admin setting to -1
  • Patron phone updates in Pika db (patrons could not remove phone)
  • Alternate phone numbers were removed when updating primary phone
  • Fix error when creating or updating a patron phone number when over 30 characters
  • Pika patron display name now updates when patron name changes in ILS
  • Fixed sidebar sticky not functioning
  • Date picker on Suspend Holds prompt for WCPL and Anne Arundel (SirsiDynix libraries) would not display within browser view thus making it impossible to select a thaw date
  • Removed “Clear Islandora Cache” from Overdrive record display
  • ~10k Hoopla record Ids within Hoopla’s MARC Records mismatch the Ids used in the Hoopla API and website.
    • Fallback to attempting to parse the correct Id from the access URL within the marc and matching with metadata from the API as well as for check out actions.
