Windows Updates: Scheduled Wednesday and Sunday mornings, 12:15am-3am (Public Workstations Only)
Security and Critical updates for the computer operating system, as well as Microsoft Office products.

Desktop Workstations
Desktop Workstations should be left on in order for the maintenance cycles to occur. Monitors can be turned off to preserve power. However, library staff should be aware of any All-in-one workstations where the computer is built into the monitor. In these cases, the entire system should be left on.

Laptop Workstations
Laptops should be left on, and plugged into power, overnight as much as possible. Optimally, laptops should be left on for at least one Software Update cycle, and one Windows Update cycle. While it is acceptable for systems to miss a week or two of updates, going too long without updates will affect the security and functionality of these systems.
