The training outline is a list of the areas that will be shown and discussed during training.   At the end of the training, you should have a better understanding of how to set up Sierra and your bib utility for cataloging and perform basic copy cataloging.

Compact Browse: If the Compact Browse option is enabled on your Sierra Desktop Application, either through your Display tab or the Admin App, Sierra returns search results in a condensed format.
Record View Properties: Some catalogers prefer to set their user accounts to view the bibliographic records as a default instead of item records.  This can be done in the Cataloging function by using the Record View Properties.
Z39.50 Cataloging: Z39.50 is an international standard client–server protocol for searching and retrieving information from a database.  Marmot members use it to get MARC records from other libraries. The remote system does not have to be an Innovative system. However, both systems must have Internet access and the remote system must run a functioning Z39.50 server.  Marmot has added several Z39.50 targets to Cataloging function in Sierra.
Bib Utility: Connexion or SkyRiver.
