  • Reminder that next month we will discuss placing sticky substances or RFID tags to library materials.
  • At this time, we are simply collecting data on effected items or patron interactions.

Replacement Copies - Austin, Mesa County

Cleaning Other Library Discs -  Austin, Mesa County

  • This was brought this up for similar reasons.  Mesa County had a few discs that were attempted to be cleaned at other libraries recently and one of them was returned to us damaged beyond repair because of the way that it was cleaned.
  • Mesa County was able to clarify that Marmot libraries should not attempt to clean discs that belong to another library.

Reporting Lost-in-Tranist Items to CLiC within 15 - 30 Days - Austin, Mesa County

  • This was brought up as a reminder.
  • Discussed when an item should be reported as lost to CLiC.
  • When an item goes in transit, CLiC expects anything that has been in transit for more than 2 weeks to be suspect and would like to be notified.
  • They ask that you notify them 15-30 days after an item has went in transit.

Best Practices for Setting Up a Juvenile Library Card - Lisa, Crested Butte

  • Lisa had a few questions specific to juvenile or youth patron accounts and whether email options are automatically enabled within Sierra.
    • Brandon confirmed that email options are enabled and do not require Marmot's intervention to initiate them.

Hold Cancellation Notice Options - Amy, Garfield County

  • Amy noticed that the language used among hold cancellation notices could benefit from improvement and proposed a default option.
  • There is currently a discussion on this topic among the ASC email group, so please voice your input.
