Pika Release Notes 2019.06 

New Functionality

• Sierra API Extract
  • Rewrite Sierra API extract process
    • Effort to prevent the process getting stuck as it had in the past for marmot test site
  • Populate additional bib-level data not previously included (Sierra Bib Fix Fields, typically tag 998)
    • matType, locations
  • Remove now unneeded due date extraction process
    • This was required for a while when marc exports from Sierra did not include due dates for items.
  • Code cleanup: common methods for specific Sierra libraries moved to the shared iii indexing driver
    • Eg. determineLibraryUseOnly, isItemAvailable, isOrderItemValid
  • Flatirons custom suppression handling moved to use the standard suppression handling
• Pika AJAX calls refactored to use single AJAX handler class

Bug Fixes

• User rating facet - every work that is unrated was counted in rating 3 stars and below

• Reload cover button fix for sideloads
• Sidebar links configuration fix - initial accordion was open for logged in users regardless of setting in the Library Admin page
• Sierra fix for message showing an item was renewed when it was not. 
• User supplied tags fix - users couldn’t see tags unless they were logged out. Searches by tag were performing a keyword search by the tag phrase rather than performing a search by the tag
• Hoopla registration pop-up would fail to load

Sideloads

• No updates.

Additional Work

• Turned on Hoopla for an AspenCat library
  • Northern Saguache County
• Theming for new AspenCat member library
• Configuration changes for records to include for Flatirons
  • Include Library Records to Include option in locations

• Saturday Overdrive metadata full reload for Marmot was causing the full reindex to finish late in the morning
  • Moved to Sunday Mornings when there is less load on the servers
• Marmot name server failure caused delays when connecting to Overdrive effectively turning off Overdrive integration in Pika
