Sierra API Extract go live

• September 3, 2019 deployment

MUG 2019

• Survey for ranking next development priorities
  • Survey out Sept 12th, responses due by September 26th.
  • The next development for the Software Development (SD) team’s priorities is for next year.
  • Once SD has its stable release finished, they will be working on the priorities. 
  • Prioritizing development work for Pika is always going to be something the SD will pay attention to because there will always be development requests for Pika.
  • SD wants to establish a very stable and transparent method for getting feedback on priorities, as they plan for their next year.
    • The idea is the SD can start to build a process where the Marmot staff look at the upcoming priorities that have been decided and listed in the potential bucket of backlogged tickets.
    • SD will try to have 50 - 60 broad items to present to everyone through the survey
    • The items will be divided up by functional areas within Pika
    • On the survey, people will be asked to indicate which of the items are of the highest priority for your library. 
    • SD wants to make sure they are identifying specific needs for all populations and considering those needs.
    • After September 26th, the team will close the survey and run some quick analysis on what items rose to the top.
    • SD will look at the survey from the perspective of academic, public, and school libraries, so they can provide fairness for the types of libraries that are not the majority.
    • SD will bring the survey findings to the pre-conference at MUG, with a chance for those of you who are attending to chat about it with the Marmot staff.
    • SD will use information from the MUG pre-conference session to pick a reasonable number of development activities that they will be taking a look at in 2020. 
    • With an eye towards having this as a recurring process that happens every year at MUG.
    • Whatever the team does not get to one year, will be looked at for the following year.
    • The team will do as much as they can, but cannot promise that they can get to everything that gets prioritized. 
  • MUG activity will be a discussion among Marmot voting members, including feedback provided by Discovery Partners as part of the survey
  • November Discovery Committee meeting will be a continued discussion of decisions made at MUG 2019 
• Chris will be giving his Google Analytics presentation at MUG 2019

• Google Analytics Upgrade and Enhancements
  • Chris is working of the Google Analytics

Next Release

• Montrose - New Marmot Member Implementation
  • The kickoff has already started
• Record Grouping Adjustments
  • These adjustments will happen over several  releases
  • Pascal will be working on this for the rest of the year
• Stability Version - Record Grouping: New grouping categories
• Stability Version - Record Grouping: Language
  • Everything the SD team is working on is based upon getting to the stable build
  • These will not go into Production until SD wrapped up all the changes, because this affects the group work data 

Next Quarter

• PHP Language Update and PHP 3rd Party Library
  • JB wants to focus on getting the software on the server updated
• Virtualize Flatirons Pika server
  • JB is working on this project
• Stability Version - Record Grouping: Improved handling for grouping category: Movie

Short Term

• Control of Econtent Manifestation Display in Search Results and Grouped Work Views
• Horizon ROA Driver
• Admin user options
  • Like to give the control of some of the features to the admins to make the changes
