Pika Roadmap

  • E-Content Improvements

    • Would like to start working with additional vendors to have the same type of integration as OverDrive
    • Hoopla Books is one of the first ones that the R & D team would like to work on, so you could checkout the books instead of the side loading.
    • This also involves APIs
    • R & D would like some guidance on what to work on for the group
    • One thought would be to work on tickets D-104 and D-646.
    • It was suggested that the R & D team work on by E-Content and Search Bugs at the same time.
  • Search Bugs

    • R & D would like some guidance on what to work on for the group
    • One thought would be to work on ticket D-610.
    • One of the factors when determining what projects to work on depends on Story Points.   Story Points lets the R & D team decide how long it will take to fix, which is also a consideration.  Big complex fixes have to be planned carefully, because it might take a bigger chunk of time to schedule.
    • It was suggested that the R & D team work on by E-Content and Search Bugs at the same time.

Other Completed Work:

  • Sorting of holds page
  • Recommended For You browse category
  • Customizable card expiration message
  • Offline Mode Administrator Access

Conversation topic:

  • Update to placing a hold on an alternate edition (see D-1496)
  • If the latest edition has a status of Checked Out, Currently Unavailable, On Order, Coming Soon, In Progressing, and at least one of the other editions is available and holdable, the main Place Hold button will prompt for an alternate edition.
  • The Missing and On Search statuses are grouped under Currently Unavailable.

Other Topics:

  • Anna from Grand County wanted to know if anyone is currently using Pika or Sierra to things like museum passes, or local cultural institution type passes for checkout to library cardholders.
  • She is looking for a way that patrons can reserve the pass.
  • Wanted to know if this is something that can be done with Pika or Sierra, or if she needed a third party product.

Next month conversation topic: Make a suggestion!
