PSA Meeting Minutes
05/18/2022
The committee reviewed the complied questions from the survey results. The Marmot staff have
processed the list of questions and parsed them out into different types. Here is the link to the
spreadsheet:
- The first tab is a compilation of all the questions. It includes the type of question and whether it
needs to be answered internally/externally. Other tabs separate out internal vs. external
questions. Marmot staff will send the 16 external questions out to libraries within the Flat Irons
consortium, which are all public libraries, and also send the questions to one individual from
Poudre River Public Library District. Marmot will ask the libraries to respond to the questions so
that the committee may review the answers during the next meeting. - Marmot staff requested that anyone who has an academic library contact that utilizes Sierra and
PINS, should let Marmot staff know since academic libraries will face different challenges. - Committee members hoped to receive answers from 3-5 libraries in order to get different
perspectives, discuss the answers and decide who we would like to invite to the committee in
the future. - Marmot staff will work on the internal questions and hope to have a large number of them
addressed before moving forward. Software development team will also have to be consulted to
discuss Pika and PINS.
PINS implementation timeline:
- MUG: plan on having a presentation at MUG to share as much information as we have, discuss
how problems will be addressed, provide a Marmot privacy policy and a PIN implementation
project plan. The implementation timeline will depend on the number of resources the
consortium is able to provide or if marmot staff provide most of the work. By MUG, the hope is
to have an idea of when we may be able to implement PINS in order to provide libraries time to
consider, and work toward, that implementation.
